Mom has a 'Medicare replacement' insurance policy with United Healthcare (Secure Horizons) which both JH and Anderson will not take. They would take a 'supplemental Medicare policy',but not a 'replacement policy' which she has(the 'replacement' policy takes over and administers Medicare).

She was set up with JH - all appointments were made and they said they'd take her insurance, then all of a sudden they said they will NOT take her insurance, realizing it was a replacement policy.

Vanderbilt says she will be operable if the tumor shrinks with chemo (away from the artery). We have an appt with a local oncologist today (not Vanderbilt). I assume it will be the traditional Gemzar - not much chance of it shrinking, but we're hoping and praying it will.
