I went through a similar situation while being my mother's caregiver. We did have those talks as you described and it did help. I also enlisted help from the minister of her church even though she was upset because he was new to the church. I loved her even though she drove me nuts many times . I brought in small gifts that she cared about and that made her day a little bit.

She had one friend from the old days who would visit as well.

My dad was the easiest person in the world to care for and appreciated everything and every one. My mom was the opposite. It was quite a learning experience! When Don was dx with PC I already knew more than I wanted to but it was helpful .

Love, Cindy
