As a caregiver it is so hard, and Stephen is so right, they don't give you a manual on 'how to'. I would say it is equally hard to be the patient, again no manual. My husband has always been so strong, the 'rock' in our relationship. He was the planner, the systems guy, who made things run smoothly. And now it is soooo hard for him to let others do it. He literally had anxiety attacks about my plan to get home, which was quite complicated and involved several people, plus the limo, the airline.

Stephen is correct, 'loss of control'. At least I can say that he does appreciate everything. And in that regard, he is much better than he was before this horrible disease.

To the initial writer, you just have to get out of the house sometimes. Get away and blow off some of the stink. I did that in Houston, even though I hated the driving and my hubby was relatively undemanding. (His comment was 'stop mothering me') But it was healthier for both of us. And no, he didn't die!!
