The rates for all PC patients are scary and terrible. That said, it does vary based on the stage when you were diagnosed and the care that you received. Some of the major centers have fairly decent post Whipple survival rates for the five year mark, but even those are poor. We were told at MDA that even with a successful Whipple, five years did not mean a cure. And some of my searching through the research available, saw that even post five years Whipple, there was still a high risk of reocurrance, which then moved from the abdomen to the lung.

If you are not eligible for Whipple, the numbers are even worse. We desperately need more research and treatment regimens.
