I'm no expert but my husband also has a confusing dx. His liver biopsy was expected to be ocular melanoma but was found caused the pathologist to do the stains over. The liver dx was decided to be adeno w/ neuroendocrine differentiation. The pancreas distal tumor (3.0 cm) biopsy showed adeno w/ neuro features. But... the oncologist at MDA says the tumors act more like NET. 'O' scan showed nothing. , Chromogranin A and CA 19-9 always normal. No symptoms except scans show growing tumors in the past several months, particularly on the liver. Aug will be 4 yrs since dx. After 5 months of gem/cisplatin and gem/carboplatin, WC's body could take no more chemo and the tumors were growing. They stopped the chemo and after a couple of months, the tumors became stable, then no treatment until last month when he started Afinitor. H went almost 34 months with no treatment. He is planning to go to his high school's reunion next week, 58 yrs since he graduated.I'd say that is very good for someone with adeno stage IV dx. I pray all you husbands tumors are dx'ed and he gets a good treatment plan. Happy to have a living and breathing husband. God bless U both!...Jean in TX
