What an awful reaction you had to GTX.

Good to hear your experience with GA is better - sounds similar to us. Not too much toxicity, but not quite enough for treating cancer.

I have heard that Abraxane is better tolerated then Taxotere. It is newer. Should have fewer side effects. So since it is in a similar family to taxotere, the hope is it should work as GAX. But you are right - it has not been tried to be sure.

Did your doctor think that you might have difficulty metabolizing the Xeloda, causing much of your side effects with GTX? I have heard that some people have mutations in certain genes/enzymes that make it harder for them to metabolize 5-FU (xeloda) so they have more toxicity. Or maybe they thought it was the taxotere.... It is frustrating having so many unknowns.

Thank you for sharing. Let us know how much xeloda you decide to use, and how you do with GAX.
