I was never a big drinker (sans my college years where I killed a fair share of brain cells like most college students) and no one ever told me, post whipple that I could not.

However, moderation is always best so at most I have one or two beers a month or a glass of wine now and then.

I don't think there is any evidence that alcohol will re-trigger the cancer but I do worry that if he has increased his drinking that you have a sign of perhaps a more serious issue - like depression that may be surfacing. Having PC and the whipple is a HUGE wake up call that life is short and you need time and sometimes some outside help to process all that the diagnosis means.

I hope that you can talk to your spouse and determine the cause for the increase drinking.
