We did a lobectomy when I had a single spot show up. No biopsy done prior because it was hard to get to. Since there was nothing else and no lymph node involvement; surgery was it. No chemo and/or radiation recommended.

Since your dad had/has fungal infections they may be a bit more reserved. While they can remove a section of lung; they don't/can't do that too much.
