I am so sorry the cancer has returned. A long time ago I looked into RFA for my mom. Since that time I've seen other options mentioned here and hopefully you will get a few replies so you will know the options you can consider. Here is an old post of mine on the RFA Hug

I looked into RFA a few years ago. The pioneer of RFA was Dr. Sewell in Mississippi I wanted him for my mama. He is only interested in his STATS which makes him look GOOD, if the patient is considered cure able he will see that patient. Here is the letter I got back from his office. I did phone many of these people and talked at length with them. Most of them called me back on their dime. Just remember this list is at least 7 years old now. I'm sure there are many others that should be added to this list, and I'm not sure all the numbers will still be working numbers (area codes could have changed) I just thought I'd run this past you.

Hugs Lillie

My name is Barry Mullins, and I am Dr. Sewell's research assistant. 2 main points: 1) radiofrequency ablation is not an appropriate treatment for bronchoalveolar cancer because rfa targets specific tumors and this cancer type is usually seen as multiple tiny tumors throughout the lungs. However, if your cancer is an atypical type of bronchoalveolar cancer--that is, if it has formed a few well-defined tumors of at least 2 cm in size--then rfa may be an appropriate treatment. 2) dr. Sewell has had to close the part of his service previously available to patients with stage 2a and higher lung cancers due to an excessive workload here at the university of Mississippi, so we wouldn't be able to take your case anyway. However, I have attached a list of physicians currently performing rfa in the U.S., should you decide to pursue this treatment. For any further questions you may have, you may respond to this email or phone our office @ 601-815-3983. Thank you for your interest.

Sincerely, Barry Mullins, research assistant office @sewellnet.net
