I didn't have any real big problems with Gemzar, my experience was similar to other posters. The day of the infusion was no problem, by day 2 or 3 after I was usually feeling pretty fatigued and sometimes a little sick, by day 4 or 5 I was back to somewhat normal. I drove myself to most of the treatments, but always had someone with me. In hindsight that was a blessing since one of the things that really effected me as the treatments progressed was 'chemo-brain'. I became very forgetful and was in a fog for most of the last 2/3rds of the cycle. Having someone there to remember nurses instructions, blood counts ect. was important. Definitely try to be there when she sees the oncologist to help remember any questions that need to asked and instructions from the Dr.
