My hair didn't fall out in clumps following Whipple surgery, but I did have more than normal shedding. My hair thinned quite a bit. Taking a general purpose multi-vitamin seemed to help some. When I started taking B12 supplements at my doctors recommendation, amazingly my hair thickened up. I can't explain it, but I'm sure happy about it.

Since your surgery was one month ago, maybe your hair loss is a side affect of the long anesthesia during the surgery, or perhaps some of the meds you were/are on.
