My father just turned 87 on May 21. In January of 2006 he was diagnosed with
bile duct cancer. He went to UC San Francisco to have the tumor removed from
his right lobe, but the doctors found that the tumor was too invasive and
removed his gallbladder and sent him home. He did a full round of chemo on
Gemzar which kept the tumor from growing until this past January when he
began 5FU and Leukovorin. His oncologist is putting him back on the Gemzar.
I just want to share that his upbeat attitude and basically living his life
as if he did not have cancer is what has kept him alive and, of course, the
exceptional care he gets from his oncologist. Keep your faith close to your
heart and love and enjoy those who love you. God Bless.
