Thanks for the information on the iron supplement. I feel that there are too many things being missed on my husband. You would think that it would be an automatic thing to put someone on this iron. My husband was 118 lbs before they put him on TPN and that was only done because I begged them. He is now between 128 - 130 still anorexic! The nutritionist said that the reason he has not gained anymore weight is because of the chemo and the wound that he still has from a messed up whipple.

My husband just went to have a celiac block done on 3/25th. He thinks that there is no improvement on the pain if anything, he thinks it hurts more!!! We will do a followup on that. I thought the increase in pain was from the chemo that he did the following week. Does chemo hurt to have it? The onc wants to start my husband on Tarceva; he is currently on gemzar for 2 weeks on 1 week off. When he had first started chemo the 3rd week put him in the hospital for 4 days. My husband is very frail and I believe that is why the doc is taking it slow. His ca19-9 test was 48 in Feb. and went to 78 in March. That does not seem to be very high. Thank God! Thanks again for your response.
