It depends on the chemo treatment you are on for the platelet number. Mine can't be below 75. I was going every two weeks, and couldn't have treatment three different times due to platelets dropping under 75. They switched me to every three weeks to allow my platelets to recover. So far it seems to be working. Three weeks ago they were 86, today they are 108, so they do fluctuate. There is nothing I can do to bring them up. My husband's were always dropping below 16, which is the magic number for a transfusion. I sure don't want to have that happen.
