My husband, age 69 had 6 mos of chemo and his got really low; but not low enough to stop chemo; now they are almost normal again; finished chemo end of December, so it took about 3 months for them to be almost back up to normal; but I think I remember them telling us if they get too low you can have a transfusion of just platelet cells.; check with your doctor.
