If something happens to your husband and he ends up dying - will you regret that you never went? If so, then go. My husband James passed away this March 6, 2010 almost 2 years after being diagnosed. He was a university professor who worked up until 3 weeks before he died and we took many trips in those 2 years while he was on various chemos.- always against the advice of his oncologists. James always tolerated the chemos well - and he tried them all...He took a 3 month research sabbatical and we went to Hawaii and the Cook Islands in the South Pacific Jan. - March 2009 - where he only took the oral pill Tarceva. When we got back in March, his cancer had progressed and we cancelled a trip to Australia and went back to a new chemo regime but left for Belize for 2 weeks for my birthday in April. He always told me he wished we had gone to Australia after his cancer continued to grow. We got married in Las Vegas in June 2009 after being together for 16 years. We then went to Fiji for 4 weeks in November, 2009 where we had the time of our lives and he was so happy we went as he started feeling poorly when we got back from Fiji. And as unbelievable as this sounds we went to Mexico on Valentines Day, 2010 for a week just 3 weeks before he passed away as he told me he didn't want to stay at home with me feeling sorry for him. We picked Mexico as it was a direct flight from home and he felt if anything started to go really wrong, we would get on a plane immediately. In any case, things didn't go wrong in Mexico and although he couldn't do much - I have the most beautiful memories and photos of him lying in the sun in a hammock - looking so happy to be away from the cold of Canada. I hope your decision makes you happy.
