my hubby (71 yr) From diagnosis to Whipple was 2 wks, started chemo and radiation at the same time 8 wks later. Dx: Adenocarcinoma with 1 lymph node out of 11 positive, stage 2b. They removed his entire pancreas, spleen, common bile duct, 1/4 of stomach and part of sm. intestine. He had a rough 2 yrs, is insulin dependent and takes enzymes. Now at 77 yrs. has a good quality of life, golfed 18 holes 2x's a wk last 3-4 summers. It was a roller coaster of emotions and not easy on either of us. Everyone reacts different to chemo and radiation, good luck in your decision.
