Dear Rickh, It's one day at a time, one hour at a time and in some cases it's one minute at a time. I know how you feel about leaving your wife's side, when my husband was very ill I had to leave his side to run our business. I do think it gave him some peace to see me go, in his mind I know he was thinking good she can do it and will carry on, no matter what. I became very good at giving people chores when they asked over and over what can they do to help? It gave friends and family the sense of helping out in a big way. Our son was twelve at the time so there was plenty of running around to be done. I also gave much of my fears and struggles to God. I am only telling YOU this as you seem like a man of faith from your post. The more of my heartache and fear I gave to God the more he took from me. It was amazing. I hope this help, even if it's just a little.
