One year ago, I had surgery (where I live) to remove a nonfunctioning islet cell tumor in the tail of my pancreas. My spleen was also removed along with 17 lymph nodes, 3 were positive. I was told there wasn't an effective treatment for this type of PC other than surgery.

I decided to get a 2nd opnion & traveled 10 hours to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. They agreed...no effective treatments available at this time. Johns Hopkins also said I'm StageIII because the cancer has moved from the original location.

I posted for the first time back on Dec 22nd and I wanted to thank those who replied and offered advice & infomation. Several seemed to think I could have other options, reminding me that there are very few Drs who are up on the latest info concerning islet cell tumors.

Finally, my question is....what are these Drs names? Thank you, thank you, thank you. Lee :)
