My husband is Stage III; has had six months of Gemzar; 3 wks on, one week off. He has done very well on it. Minimal nausea, no pain, no vomiting; Gemzar is a level 2 chemo drug; not as strong as many of the others so hair loss usually isn't a problem; my husband hasn't lost any hair. We did have to put him on two iron tablets a day because of low hemoglobin; and he has had a blood transfusion for that; because he was getting fatigued because his counts were low; but other than that, the side effects have been very slight; even after 6 months. Good luck, you know, chemo isn't like it used to be, that is what we are discovering.
