So sorry that Ken keeps being bothered by this pleural fluid. I'm hoping with all I have to hope with that the cause is from something other than cancer but here's what we were told about fluid accumulation & testing. Because the fluid can accumulate from the smallest tumors, it's not unusual for the scans to look clean when fluid is present. Also, over 50% of the time, cancer cells WILL NOT show up in the fluid. we knew for certain that Greg's abdomen had a very large tumor as well as a few small ones that were identified during his gastric bypass surgery. He had 4.5 liters taken out during this surgery yet, it showed no evidence of cancer cells in the fluid.

>>Now here's some good news. Oncologist said that if patient responds to chemo, these small tumors can certainly respond and fluid may quit accumulating. Unfortunately for Greg, he lost way too much time being off chemo while recovering from surgery. The cancer advanced way beyond the control point.

>>Wishing Ken some better news here real soon.
