My husbands e.coli infection was unknown from where it came from. They suspected the biliary tract (since he has undergone a hepatico-jejunostomy and a gastro-jejunostomy) but non of the tests or the procedures done indicated that. Depending on what dr we talk to some still mention cholangitis, but no tests showed anything. The link behind the parasite infection (in his case it was 'strongyloides') and e. coli is that the parasite infection could have caused the e.coli so that is why, they think, the infections kept coming back a week after antibiotic treatment. He finishes this latest round of i.v. antibiotic treatment a week from today. We'll see what happens. I keep praying for no more fevers or infections. If you have any questions I can help you with just let me know. Patty
