Do you know what the original source of the infection was? I mean, presumably the ecoli bacteria came from the GI tract...but did his infection start with a bladder or kidney infection...infection in another organ...or unknown?
I'm very interested in your husband's story as my mom has had a run of severe UTIs (all ecoli) that have been very hard to fix. 2 weeks ago she ended up in the hospital with Bactremia, which is when infection goes to the bloodstream (stage prior to sepsis). I am curious about the link you mentioned between ecoli and parasite infections.
