My father was diagnosed with inoperable Pc last september. His tumor markers at that time were 64,000, there was lymph adenopathy, but so spread to liver. he was started on the study using gemzar and Mor-ab. He was doing well, markers got all the way down to like 84, with a 3mm shrinkage in the mass, and the lymph adenopathy resolved. His markers have been rising since May, they are at 900, and there has been a 2mm increase in the mass. He under went a celiac nerve block at the begining of the month. Since he has been home, he has no appetite, no strength or energy. Obviously the chemo is not as effective as it was. I have tried everything imaginable to get him to eat or drink. He says he is always having nausea, or feels full. The docs have been talking about changing his chemo. I guess I am trying to prepare myself but I am not sure for what. Is this just a bump in the road, or is this the begining of the end. He has fought this thing like a champ, since day 1. Two months ago he was walking 3 miles a day and playing golf. Now he has to rest after taking just a couple of steps. He lays around all day and I know he is depressed, but I am not sure how to approach him. I guess I am just lost at this point. Any information would be useful. Please do not afraid to be honest with me. I don't want him to give up. Thanks
