Has anyone had this experience of being let down and disappointed by someone very close to while you or a loved one is suffering from PC? I have a best friend who lives in another state but is only 2 1/2-3 hours away by car. We have been best friends since we were very young. She moved away but we have stayed close through the years and are more like family. She is close to my family as well. Since my loved one has been ill with PC 8 months ago, she has not been here to see me or him. It's very sad. She made one attempt but it was not a good time for us to accept visitors and that was it. She does not work over the summer and just got back from a month long trip overseas. She has known all along the condition of my loved one (Stage IV), the incredible stress we've all been under, etc, but hardly stays in touch to see how things are. She has been calling this week but I am not answering my phone. I am angry and hurt. There are so many wonderful and good hearted people who have been calling and showing their concern - some people I do not even know that well. How could a best friend do this? I am angry and hurt. I would have been at her house within a week of a dx like this in her family.
