I think Latus kicks in about 5-6 hrs after injection. We had to start giving it in the morning along with Humalog. The humalog covered breakfast, and then lantus would kick in about lunch time. the doc might have to lower the dose even more. my husband's bedtime snack is a bowl of cereal, milk and a piece of fruit or peanut butter and jelly sandwhich and fruit.
