There is a clinical trial underway since Feb/09 at the National Cancer Institute of the NIH in Bethesda MD. Your friend should check it out. I am in it now and go there next week for initial chemoembolization, before resections. http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00925275 Cut and paste that link into your address bar.

BTW, Gemzar does not normally cause hair loss, as it has some of the smallest side effects of almost all the chemo drugs. Taxotere is the worst for hair loss, In personally observed opinion. But, vanity is the last thing one should worry about with PC... ;-)
