lose thier hair--some do not. There is no way that I know of to predict. My husband did not. Some people have nausea with the chemo, others do not. Extreme fatigue was my spouse's biggest problem, especially as the radiation continued--the effects are cumulative. Mouth sores became an issue towards the end of treatment. Unfortunately, how an individual will tolerate chemo/rad is just a big unknown--which is part of what makes it so scary. Best wishes to your sister.
