Today is Charlie's bi-annual onc. appt. His PCP takes care of all issues during the year (such as running the CA19-9, diabetes, enzymes, etc. etc.). Unfortuntately it's time for a scan, and that's where the PCP draws the line.....so off to the onc.

Charlie discussed with his PCP the possiblity of yearly MRI's in place of the CT Scans at this point (5 yrs.). The PCP is in agreement. Now we will discuss it with the oncologist so he can order it.

I do like the oncologist....good bedside manner...takes all the time you need, etc. etc. However, as nice as he is he never once believed Charlie would survive past a year....and he does not put any stock in the CA19-9 whatsoever. His PCP is quite different....he truly believed Charlie had a good chance of survival, and expressed that many times.

I can almost bet the rent the CA19-9 will not be on the labs today, but if we mention it, the onc. will add it on.

I believe in my heart Charlie is still just fine. I'm not all that stressed....(that's a lie!).

Good thoughts and prayers are always appreciated.

Love, Pat
