If I remember correctly, they kept Charlie in ICU for about 4 days. He had some problems with the wound, which I don't believe is all that common. They handled it. Yes, he became diabetic, but his sugar levels had risen a few months before dx and the drs. were watching it, so he may just have become diabetic regardless. He has managed the diabetes just fine. Charlie was in good health, but at the time of dx. he was about 50 lbs. overweight. Believe it or not, this worked in his favor.

I wish your husband a very uneventful, quick recovery!
