The doctor pitching a fit about asking for a second opinion should have
raised a red flag. anyhow i was diagnosed dec.o8 and started treatment
jan.7. i have been on gemzar and xeloda since then but was taken off the
gemzar 2 weeks ago because it would knock down my blood counts too far. there
are shots to bring up the red and white blood counts, but nothing
satisfactory for low platelett counts other than transfusions and they don't
raise the counts significantly. besides i have reactions to the transfusions.
so now i'm on just xeloda.i have stage 4 biliary cancer, so i know there
aren't many options available. can't sleep tonight because one of my sons was
here telling me about his brother-in-law and friend who had terrible pain
toward the end of their life. any suggestions how to gently tell him i'm not
interested in that sort of info?
