As I understand it, there have been a number of vaccine trials, using the same vaccine, at JHH. The trial my husband is in is a phase II trial for resected patients who may or may not have had their whipple at JHU. Another, different trial, using the same vaccine, at JHU is/was for patients who were operable and the vaccine was given BEFORE the whipple surgery. Yet another, different trial, using the same vaccine is/was for inoperable patients without mets.

There may be other PC vaccine trials going on JHU that I'm not aware of; if you are interested, contact JHU and ask about plans for any future trials. I pestered those good folks to no end trying to get the info on Lee's trial because I knew the trials filled-up quickly.

There were vaccine trials (using different vaccines) at Presbyterian and in South Carolina (Cancer Center of Carolina, I believe), but both those were dropped after phase I; and, once upon a time, there was talk about a vaccine trial in the works at UBA in Birmingham--don't know what ever happened with that one.

You may also try googleing pancreatic cancer vaccine trials; not only will that allow you to find out if any trials are open and on-going at other facilities, you can also read vaccine trial results and get some idea about whether or not the vaccine is something you want to actively pursue. Hope you find the very best treatment plan available for you.
