My husband, 52 years old, was diagnosed 1/30/2009 with borderline resectable
pancreatic cancer. It's classified as such because the tumor is against the
SMA & SMV. He began chemo (820mg/week Gemzar) & Radiation treatments 3/16/09.
The game plan is to complete 6 weeks of treatment, wait 3-4 weeks for the
effects of radiation to complete it's task and repeat the CT scan to
determine if the tumor has shrunk away from the vessels. If the shrinkage
occurs, and no sign of spreading of cancer is observed he will be having a
